How We Work

Artisan Market Ringwood is a curated monthly artisan market based at The Furlong, Ringwood. This page explains how we operate, what we look for in our makers, and how we use technology in running our business.

Curation

Every maker at Artisan Market Ringwood is individually selected. We do not operate an open-access model. Each application is reviewed carefully against our curation criteria, which prioritise genuine handmade craft, product quality, and the overall balance of the market.

We consider the range of products already represented, the experience we are creating for our customers, and the standards we hold ourselves to as organisers. A strong application demonstrates not only the quality of the product but an understanding of what it means to trade professionally at a curated event.

We are an oversubscribed market. Demand consistently exceeds capacity and we operate a waitlist at every market date. This means our selection process is rigorous, and we make no apology for that. The standard we maintain is what makes Artisan Market Ringwood worth attending — for customers and makers alike.

How We Plan

The layout of every market is planned carefully and in detail before market day. We consider customer flow, accessibility, health and safety requirements, and the overall balance of the event. Pitches are measured and allocated with the whole market in mind, not just individual preferences.

We work hard to accommodate reasonable requests where we are able to do so within these parameters. We ask our makers to trust that process, and the vast majority do so with grace and good faith. That trust is the foundation of a well-run market.

Our Artisan Community

We are proud of the community we have built at Artisan Market Ringwood. Our makers are not simply stallholders — they are part of something that has been carefully grown over time. We invest in that community through consistent promotion, honest communication, and a genuine commitment to helping our makers thrive.

We work in close partnership with The Furlong and Ringwood Town Council to deliver a market that serves both our makers and the wider Ringwood community.

Applications

Applications open seasonally. Our process is tiered — we give priority to our established community of regular makers before opening applications more widely. Dates are not published publicly until this process is complete.

We do not operate a membership fee model. We believe our pitch fees should reflect what we genuinely deliver in return, and we keep them deliberately accessible to support our makers in building sustainable businesses.

Photography and Marketing

We ask all makers to confirm their consent to photography and marketing use as part of our onboarding process. Images are used exclusively for the promotion of Artisan Market Ringwood across our website and social media channels. We do not share maker images with third parties.

Our Use of AI

At Artisan Market Ringwood we use AI tools to support our content creation, marketing, and business planning. Every piece of content is reviewed, directed, and approved by Sue, Director of Artisan Market Ringwood, before it is published or shared.

All market decisions, artisan relationships, applications, and direct communications are managed personally. You will always be speaking to a human.

We use AI with care, with intention, and with full respect for the privacy of our artisan community and our customers. We are committed to transparency in how we use technology in our business, in line with current UK and EU AI legislation.

Artisan Market Ringwood is directed by Sue, who brings the same standards to every aspect of the market — from the makers she selects to the way she communicates with her community. .
